Our Story
Alterity, founded in 2008, is a consulting firm that provides strategic advice on health and benefits, property and casualty, and human resources management to employers and organizations of all sizes. Alterity, meaning embracing the ‘other’ or being refreshingly different, defines our approach to corporate challenges. It recognizes the unique nature of every business. Joe Rogers
Managing Director
As the Managing Director for the Health and Benefits team, Joe leads the consulting practice with over 10 years of experience managing healthcare and employee benefits strategies across various service industries and practices. He specializes in transactional health and benefits program situations, such as mergers, acquisitions and spin-offs, guiding multiyear strategic planning, financial modeling and budget development with a focus on driving operational efficiency. His expertise and strategic insights have been instrumental in navigating these complex processes, ensuring successful outcomes and creating value for private equity firms, portfolio companies, and employers.
Prior to joining Alterity in 2015, Joe worked for a national insurance brokerage firm. Joe earned his Bachelor of Arts in economics from Grinnell College.

Gina Teresi
Managing Director
Gina is the Managing Director of Alterity’s Property and Casualty team, bringing over two decades of experience from AIG and Chubb Insurance. Before joining Alterity, she was Partner and COO at Commercial Insurance Consultants, where she applied her expertise in underwriting, marketing, and broker management. Gina holds a dual degree in economics and studio art from Gettysburg College, is a certified continuing education trainer, and lives in Jacksonville, FL, where she enjoys horseback riding and time with her children.

Mike Hager
Managing Director
Michael Hager became a Managing Director of Alterity Group, LLC after the successful acquisition of Hager Strategic, Inc. in May 2022. Prior to that, Michael was the founder of Hager Strategic in 1995 and served as Principal until the acquisition. Michael had his start in this industry in 1983, helping large employers with administration, systems and sourcing issues in the HR, Benefit and Payroll areas.
Prior to founding Hager Strategic, Michael was Director of Sales and Outsourcing Implementation and served as a member of the Board of Directors for Wyatt Preferred Choice (an early entrant into the benefits outsourcing business whose legacy is now part of Voya). Before this, Michael was one of the principal architects of Mercer’s outsourcing administration business.
Michael helps clients develop and implement long-term strategies for HR, Payroll and Benefits Administration, including in-depth analyses of current vs. future systems and administrative environments. He specializes in helping clients hone their methods for managing external vendors’ ongoing performance and costs, per industry best practices. A large number of FORTUNE 500 companies rely on his expertise in these critical areas.
Michael is a frequent speaker at industry and association conferences focusing on HR, Payroll and Benefits Administration.
